New Pedestrian Crossing on Russel St

29/01/2014

New Pedestrian Crossing on Russell St

The children’s crossing on Russell St has been relocated.  The new  location was informed by a pedestrian flow study conducted by Main Roads and initiated by the school  SAFEST Committee in 2013.
Students and parents are strongly encouraged to use this crossing when it is supervised. Children on bikes, scooters or skate boards must dismount and push or carry them across the road. Remember that children’s crossings such as those on Russell St are only active when the flags are out.
The relocation of the crossing may also prompt you to reconsider your parking arrangements. For example, if you have older children it may be convenient to park on Richardson St.

Please slow down when driving near the school and observe the lowered speed limit and parking restrictions.

Parents are reminded that the Stop Drop and Go on Pease St is not a parking area. Parents are requested to stay in their cars and move slowly through the zone.  If your children are not waiting for you please pull back out on to the street and then back in to the zone to keep the traffic flowing.
