Principal's Welcome 2017

Welcome Back.
I trust your family enjoyed the holidays and that students are refreshed and ready for learning in 2017. We anticipate another fantastic year at Edge Hill State School. We welcome 150 Prep children who are beginning their learning journey in 2017 around 30 new students from Year 1 - 6. I am confident these children will be welcomed and quickly get used to our school environment and expectations. Our friendly and helpful teaching and administrative staff are available to address any questions you might have about the year ahead.

I encourage you to make the time to come in and meet your child’s teacher in these early weeks. First round parent/teacher interviews are generally held early in the year but quick introductions and brief discussions can be held before school. Alternatively your child’s teacher should provide you with an email contact early in the term so that you can communicate matters directly and efficiently. Education is a team effort and we look forward to building relationships with you as well as your children.

A reminder on behalf of our P&C Association; our P&C make invaluable contributions toward infrastructure and equipment needed in our school. They have recently assisted to build our newest asset, the EHSS Innovation Centre. I encourage you to consider ways in which you may be able to lend a hand and support the P&C. There are many options available, including voluntary financial contributions, time and energy during the many events sponsored by the P&C through the year, or attending meetings held in the staff room on the third Wednesday of each month.

We do have a lot to look forward to in the coming year. Of course our focus on safe, respectful and responsible learning is as important as ever. Students at Edge Hill are supported and challenged to achieve at their personal best. We offer so many opportunities for students to discover and strengthen their learning and interests.

We look forward to sharing another great year of learning with you and your family.
