Chess is more than just a game. It's a powerful educational tool that helps children develop critical thinking, concentration, patience, and sportsmanship. Through playing chess, students sharpen their problem-solving skills, enhance their memory, and learn the importance of planning ahead – all while having a great time!
What We Offer
- Lunchtime Chess Club: Starting as early as Year 4, students have the opportunity to participate in our lunchtime Chess Club. Led by dedicated teachers, this informal setting allows children to learn and play chess in a relaxed environment away from the heat, fostering friendships and a love for the game.
- School Chess Competitions: Each year, we organize school-wide chess competitions where students can put their skills to the test and compete against their peers. These events are not only exciting and fun but also promote healthy competition and good sportsmanship.
- Inter-School Competitions: For those who excel in chess and seek further challenges, we participate in inter-school chess competitions. These events provide students with the opportunity to represent our school, make new friends, and showcase their strategic prowess on a larger stage.
