Every second year, our senior school puts on a musical production, inviting all students in Years 4, 5, and 6 to participate. It's an opportunity for our young performers to showcase their talents and passion for the arts in a supportive and collaborative setting.
Here's how our musical production process unfolds:
At the beginning of Term 2, students are informed about the upcoming musical and have the chance to audition for various roles. The cast list is then released at the end of Term 2, announcing which students have been selected for roles in the musical.
Rehearsals take place during Term 3 and mid-way through Term 4. Sessions are scheduled during lunchtimes and three times a week after school. In addition, there are two Sunday rehearsals held in the weekends before show week.
Families receive a timetable covering the entire term of rehearsals well in advance, ensuring everyone is aware of the schedule and can plan accordingly.
Costumes are provided by families and the school. This collaborative effort ensures our performers look their best on stage. We rely on the support of volunteers for various tasks including sewing, painting, prop and set building, as well as catering for the cast on show evenings.
Whether you're a student, a family member, or a volunteer, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and contribute to our musical production. Join us as we come together to create memorable performances and celebrate the arts!
