Edge Hill Primary School serves as a feeder school for Trinity Bay State High School (T-BAY) and Cairns State High School (CSHS). Both high schools have enrolment management plans, each with specific catchment requirements tailored to their respective areas. These catchment boundaries dictate which students are eligible for enrolment at each school based on their residential address.
Trinity Bay State High School and Cairns State High School offer various excellence programs aimed at providing enhanced educational opportunities for students. Information sessions are typically held early in the year for parents interested in learning more about these programs. Both Trinity Bay State High School and Cairns State High School organise a range of programs and activities throughout the year to engage our students and enrich their educational experience. These opportunities may include participation in extracurricular activities such as the Surfing Scientist program for Year 5 students, the Clontarf program, transition sessions for Year 6 students, as well as art, dance units, and lunchtime sports.
In Term 4, both Trinity Bay State High School and Cairns State High School will offer transition sessions to our students, at school. These sessions are designed to help familiarise students with high school life, allow them opportunities to ask questions and ease their transition.
In the last week of Year 6, Edge Hill students are invited to attend an orientation day at the state high school they will be enrolling in for the following academic year. It is essential for parents to ensure that their child is enrolled in their chosen high school prior to this orientation day to facilitate a smooth transition process. Orientation days allow students to become familiar with their new school environment, meet teachers and classmates, and learn about the school's facilities and policies.
